Intro
Hmm… where can I go for a quick, relatively inexpensive, extended weekend trip to a new country that isn’t too far away from home…
Belize it is then. In what might be my most spontaneous trip yet, I booked a ticket to Belize, with a dip into Guatemala with less than a few weeks of advanced planning. (Not very like me… the guy who sometimes daydreams about where he’s gonna go in the summer of 2023.)

Lamanai, Orange Walk, Belize
After stupidly deciding to climb the highest pyramid at Lamanai, called the “High Temple” (a sign?), with the aid of a rope (another sign?) — and after enjoying the lofty views over the jungle — I realized I had to come down. I half-contemplated calling for my medical-evac-by-helicopter-insurance! With some verbal support from fellow climbers, I eventually made it by facing the pyramid taking one step at a time, and NOT looking down!
