Intro
It’s Thanksgiving holiday again, which for me usually does not mean a few days off eating great food and spending time with family and friends. What it does mean, however, is I get two extra holiday days off to go somewhere new (and eat great food there instead)!
This year, it’s time for a little rest and relaxation in México’s Yucatán peninsula (yes, including Cancún!), followed by a few fun days exploring
the capitals of Colombia and Venezuela.
The highlights on this mini-trip included the colorful, lively beach town of Playa del Carmen, the magnificent ruins of Chichén Itzá, Bogotá’s grand Plaza Bolivar, and the great food in Caracas — the famous Venezuelan hot dogs sold on the street everywhere are pretty amazing, but there’s nothing quite like a good arepa or cachapa!
